At Pvrivnote, we take privacy very seriously, as preserving privacy is the core purpose of our service. This policy explains the steps Pvrivnote takes to protect the privacy of its users.
Pvrivnote is a free, web-based service that allows users to create encrypted notes, which can be shared as unique one-time-use HTTPS URLs (referred to as links) that expire after their first access through any web browser.
Since Pvrivnote does not offer any built-in method for transmitting the link, it is the responsibility of the user to send the link.
Depending on the method you choose to send the link (e.g., email, fax, SMS, phone, instant messaging, or social media), there is a potential risk that third parties could intercept your communication, gain access to the link, and thus be able to view your note.
The link is generated in the user's browser, and at no point is it sent to Pvrivnote. Thus, the link remains solely in the possession of the sender (and later the recipient). If a user loses the link, there is no way to recover the note.
As only the link connects the decryption key to the content, and since Pvrivnote does not hold the link, no note is ever stored in a readable format at Pvrivnote. This ensures that no one, including Pvrivnote's administrators, can access the note.
When the default functionality of Pvrivnote is used, once a note is retrieved, its data is completely deleted from the service. There is no way to recover it.
If the user selects the "Show options" feature and sets a removal time interval, the note will be deleted only after that specified time has passed, regardless of how many times it has been accessed.
Once deleted, the note is permanently gone, with no way to recover it.
If a note is not accessed within 30 days, Pvrivnote will delete it, as though it had already been read. The Pvrivnote team works diligently to secure the site from unauthorized access or data destruction. However, even if unauthorized access occurs, the notes remain secure, as their contents are encrypted and can only be decrypted with the link—which Pvrivnote never possesses.
Pvrivnote does not log IP addresses. They are only processed to enable communication with Pvrivnote's servers and are not stored in log files. IP addresses are deleted once they are no longer required for communication purposes.
The creator of the note may choose to include personal data within it. Even though this data is encrypted, it can be decrypted, and therefore it can be considered pseudonymous data. However, Pvrivnote does not store IP addresses, so it is impossible to deduce the creator of a note from Pvrivnote's database.
The decryption of the note’s contents is controlled by the user (both the sender and recipient). Pvrivnote cannot decrypt the note and access any data (personal or otherwise) provided by the creator, as Pvrivnote never has the decryption key—this key is only available in the link.
The decryption of the note's data is in the users' hands (sender and recipient). Pirvnota is not able to decrypt the note and access the data (personal or otherwise) introduced by the creator since Pirvnota is never in possession of the decryption key which is contained only in the link.
By clicking on a Pvrivnote link, the user acknowledges that Pvrivnote is not responsible for the content of the note.
Pvrivnote does not share, sell, or disclose any information to third parties, nor does it use any information in ways not described in this Privacy Policy.
